UPDATED COVID-19 Preparations

Posted on: 15 March

UPDATED:

Following advice from the Australian Government, 15th March we request all Members and their families to abide by new 14 day self isolation orders for all people arriving or returning to Australia. This includes those travelling by cruise ship.

Now is not the time to be blasè or be a hero, many members of our community are in at risk health categories. The safety of our members, guests and that of our staff remains our highest priority.

Moving forward, as the situation continues to change shape we will be looking to keep you regularly informed so we can work through this together in an assured manner.

We at Links are taking every precaution to responsibly protect our staff, members and guests throughout the evolving COVID-19 situation without creating fear in a positive and calm manner.

Approximately 4 weeks ago we increased personal hygiene facilities by introducing sanitising stations in several areas of the building and the drinks cart.

We have conducted a staff education and training session, encouraging our team to practice good personal hygiene, be aware of symptoms and to isolate/see medical attention should you feel unwell or have been travelling.

We have asked our team to increase personal distance, so forgive us if we don’t shake your hand or warmly welcome regulars with a hug but your health and that of our team is our priority.

Over the weekend, as a further precaution, we have commenced taking the temperature of each team member as they start their shift. We also had some fun taking the temperature of our members pre tee off with the temp gun!

Further to this we are waiting for disinfectant wipes to arrive (as is everyone- they are in hot demand back ordered a few weeks ago) so we can be wiping down areas of high contact and are washing cart steering wheels.

We also ask that if you are not feeling well, please stay home, have some respect for the health of others. Many of our members are older (we say that respectfully) and we are wanting to avoid casualties.

We want to assure our members and guests that your health is a priority as is that of our team, be aware but not alarmed.

Golf is on, the beer is cold, the Mediterranean squid salad is delicious. Just wash your hands people!
