Local Rule Changes

Dear Members

Overnight the R&A has issued some recommended temporary local rules to assist with added hygiene practices to comply with the Rules of Golf. 

These are temporary measures are effective immediately and allow for the Rules of Golf, and Model Local Rules, to be modified as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. 

LOCAL RULE OPTIONS THAT WE ARE ADOPTING FROM SATURDAY 21ST MARCH 2020 –

 Scoring in Stroke Play, Stableford, Par, and Maximum Score

In view of concerns about handling and exchanging scorecards, on a temporary basis, our Committee has chosen to allow methods of scoring in stroke play, Stableford, Par, and Maximum Score that do not strictly comply with Rule 3.3b, or do not comply with the normal methods used under Rule 3.3b.  These are

  1. Players may enter their own hole scores on the scorecard (it is not necessary for a marker to do it). i.e. Players do not need to exchange scorecards.
  2. It is not necessary to have a marker physically certify the player’s hole scores, but some form of verbal certification should take place. i.e. Tell your marker what your score was then record it on your own card.
  3. It is not necessary to physically return a scorecard to the Committee provided the Committee can accept the scores in another way. i.e. When you finish your round simply tell the golf shop staff member what your score was and staff will enter the score manually, you can then throw your card away.

                                                                   

Flag Sticks

Players are required to leave the flag stick in the hole at all times.  

 Bunkers

Preferred lies will be allowed in bunkers.   

 

  •  NTP’s, Super Pin & Longest Drives competitions are cancelled indefinitely;  
  • Rakes have been removed from bunkers, they will be issued at bag drop and sanitized after being returned to bag drop at the conclusion of the round;
  • Change rooms in the golf shop retail space will remain closed indefinitely;
  • We are now a cashless operation accepting only card transactions throughout the resort, this includes the Golf Shop, Tees Clubhouse and our Drink Carts.
