Dear members,

Firstly, we would like to offer our continued appreciation for the vast majority of you who have been gracious, supportive and understanding during this period of uncertainty. The kind words, genuine thanks, and personal gestures from many of you have fueled our small team to keep going, more than you will ever know.

Our commitment to this business and to the members has remained steadfast and with your support, we will continue to operate to the very best of our ability. As of Wednesday 22^nd April 2020, we are pleased to announce further expansion to our operation. Whilst we are still a long way from being ‘back to normal’, we hope that the following measures will add to your access and enjoyment here at Links Hope Island.   

General tee times

Tee times will be made available daily from 6.45am-16.00pm. For ‘regular tee times’, the tee sheet is available to members 15 days out (as per our regular booking rules).

Competition times

Currently, we have been opening competitions to members only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. This will continue, with the last eligible competition time now extended until 12.30pm.

Members wishing to book the highly sought-after competition times prior to 11am on these days will be required to book 8 days prior (at 1.30pm as per prior booking rules). I am sorry to say, there is no trick or preferential treatment.

If you wish to book in between 11am-12.30pm and play competition, this portion of the tee sheet is open 15 days prior as previously noted. 

Further, we are pleased to advise that we will be running medley stableford competitions now on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. A standard $10 competition fee applies. If you wish to hand in cards for handicapping, you will need to enter these daily comps as are unfortunately still unable to process social cards at this time.

Tee sheet settings

Tee times will run in a strictly single tee start format, at 5 minute intervals. Whilst these are considerably shorter intervals than what most other clubs are doing (e.g. Sanctuary cove is operating at 8 minute intervals), we remain satisfied that there is adequate spacing between groups, thus we are delighted to offer as many tee times as we possibly can. 

Cart return

All Links golf carts must be returned prior to 4.30pm.

Car-park closure

The undercover car-park will be closed from 4.30pm. If you intend on being at the club after this time, please park in one of the outside car-parking bays to avoid your car being locked in. 

Twilight members

Twilight members are able to book from 1pm onwards due to the extension in PM times. This will take effect from Monday 27^th April, thus any bookings from 12pm this week, we will honour. Please ensure your bookings are after 1pm from next week otherwise a green fee will apply.

Members guests’

Members guests have been offered a rate of $50 for 18 holes, $25 for 9 holes, when accompanied by a member for the month of April. With this promotion expiring, we are delighted to offer members guests a discounted rate of $60/18 holes, $30/9 holes from the 1^st May 2020.

Driving range – FROM THURSDAY 23rd APRIL 

We are pleased to advise that the driving range will be open in a limited capacity as follows:

Hours of operation- 6.30am- 2pm

Guidelines-

Maximum of 8 people on the driving range at any time (spaced as per bag stand). 

Last balls sold at 1.45pm.

Range closes at 2pm for clearing and remains closed for the remainder of the day.

Members will be provided with warm up balls (included in competition fees)- members arrival times remain strict however, no more than 15mins prior to tee off. Please do not try and bend this rule as we may need to shut the range down if players start arriving ‘too early’ congregating. Please also ensure that you are letting others have the opportunity for a warm up.

All players are asked to avoid the left hand green (we are unable to retrieve balls from this area).

Golf shop clothing/ purchases

Individuals will be permitted to try on clothes if they wish when shopping at the golf shop. If you decide you do not wish to purchase the item you have tried on, please return it to the counter. The item will then be ‘set-aside’ for 72 hrs as a precautionary measure. We are planning a Golf Shop Sale so stand by for details… 

Payments

Please be reminded that the Golf Club has no cash on site. Players are to pay by credit card, EFT card or house account. If you only bring cash, we will be unable to process your transaction/ enter you in the comp.

Remember to be spatially aware

We have done so well as a club, let’s keep it going. A strong reminder that;

• there are to be no gatherings of greater than 2 anywhere on Links Hope Island property,
• strictly no BYO alcohol on site as this will effect our licence and,
• please keep a visual distance from other groups of two’s on the golf course (particularly on tee blocks).

These above amendments will be effective as of Wednesday 22^nd April 2020 (with twilight member access coming into effect from Monday 27^th April 2020).
