When can we lift restrictions?
Posted on: 30 April
Good evening Members
Very good question! With virus containment, this is something I am asked increasingly.
A question if I’m honest I am not qualified to answer, but I’ll give it my best!
We are working under the guidelines of QLD Health who in turn are being guided by epidemiologists who are monitoring among other things these important factors:
– Ability to increase testing regimes.
– Reliable contact tracing methodology
– Infrastructure to handle volumes requiring hospitalisation
– Localised and widespread control of an outbreak
Beyond this, the government will be cautiously and very specifically lifting some restrictions and then must monitor effects and community response over a period of time to guage if there is increase in transition. Then, if successful we hope further easement may be justified.
If we in the near future can play in groups larger than two, we ask you give us time to adjust the tee sheets and our operation in a responsible and measured approach. We want this too, we just want to do it right.
Also, we are hearing that there is caution about opening quickly amid the onset of flu season when immunity levels are weakened and what impact this may have to community and the behaviour of the virus. Northern hemisphere is just coming out of this phase where they have struggled to contain the virus. We are thankful for our situation, our great southern land and the wonderful lifestyle we enjoy!
We appreciate that other states are already increasing players per tee time and gathering size. We are hopeful it won’t be too long till we can gather again.
But in the meantime, continue the wonderful job you are by:
-managing your distance (clubhouse, shop, tees etc),
-in side door/out fountain door,
-no cash on site,
-don’t forget to regularly wash your hands/use sanitiser,
– no gatho’s over 2 people,
-no BYO alcohol on course,
-come just before your tee time to avoid the clubhouse congregation
-8 on the range with distancing provided
-remembering to be out of undercover carpark by 4.30pm
– download Mi Score App, no paper scorecard required
-If you see a group of more than 2, call us. The alternative is not worth it. We want to stay open.
You have been so responsive to the many adjustments and we appreciate the spirit in which everyone is handling the changes to the way we play. Our priority remains to ensure the safety of yourselves and our staff. Let’s not be complacent, just hopeful this soon shall pass.
Thanks for your cooperation and positive community spirit!
Best,

Ps. No idea when you’ll play in fours!
