Driving Range & 9th Hole Re-Design Update – WE ARE A GO!

Posted on: 23 December

We are thrilled to be able to finally announce that our Operational Works Application for the Driving Range & 9th Hole have been formally approved by Gold Coast City Council.

Today we attended a pre-start meeting with council and our appointed consultants, all conditions to commence have been satisfied and we are free to start the project.

The construction program is anticipated to take 6 weeks, weather permitting

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

  • Golf Spectrum, our chosen construction company will deliver machinery to the site from Tuesday, 29th
  • Golf Course Maintenance team will start to prepare the grass for removal for spraying round up in selected areas. Please note that there will be discolouration behind the current 9th green and the old driving range.
  • The 9th Hole will be removed from play on Monday, 4th January and Hole 12A will return to the rotation.. Scorecards and competition set ups will be modified accordingly.
  • Traffic movement around the 1st Tee, Old Driving Range and Putting greens will be busy and we will be working with our contractor to minimise disruption and reduce safety hazards. We also ask that you exercise caution when moving through this area.
  • We will be re-directing players following the 8th hole along the cart path past the 1st Please be considerate to players teeing off and careful of balls for this period of re-direction.
  • Once the range tee has been turfed, we will commence using the area in front of the tee to have you back hitting irons! It is likely that this will be early Feb.
  • The temporary hitting bays will be relocated to the north east of the putting greens so that they are in a safer location.

We will continue to provide updates on our progress and will have copies of the concept than drawings in the Golf Shop and Reception for viewing.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Members for your patience during the protracted period of planning, this is the Christmas gift we have been hoping for.

In the meantime, if you have any queries, you are most welcome to contact General Manager, Tracey-Lea Tiley for assistance.
