The Gold Coast Annual Champion of Champions were played at Burleigh Golf Club on Sunday. The Hope Island team of 4 consisted of Mark Burrell (A Grade), David Hanton (B Grade) who filled in for Lorne Sanders, Rayne Soderlund (C Grade) and stand in Captain for the day Roger Worms.

Mark had a respectable 75 off the stick, although disappointed with his score Mark still ran a credible 4^th against all the district 2022 Club Champions. One of our former members Dujuan Snyman easily won the A Grade with a fantastic gross score of 66. David had a 95 off the stick and young Rayne had a 101 and will gain valuable experience playing against the men in a prestigious Gold Coast event. Roger in the captains category also had a 75 off the stick to equal Mark.

Unfortunately, when all the Nett scores were combined, the Hope Island team finished in the middle of the pack. Burleigh Golf club, with the home track advantage, won the overall team’s event.

Mark has recently been selected to represent the Gold Coast District against the strong Brisbane District Golf Association. Congratulations, and play well this Sunday.
