Golf Course Safety

14th February 2014

Dear Members,

Links Hope Island have a responsibility by Law and as a condition of the Insurance Cover to minimise the risk of injury on the golf course and reduce the potential for litigation should there be claims against the Club.

To ensure Residents are aware of the Club’s position, a letter regarding access to the golf course and safety will be letterbox dropped to all residents of Hope Island in the next few days by Cambridge Management Services (CMS). Click here to view the Golf Course Safety Letter. The letter is self explanatory.

We request the support of Members who are residents of Hope Island to abide by the hours permitted for walking or running on the course as stated in the letter.

To assist our Course Marshall in checking that only those Members and Visitors who have registered to play are on the course, please ensure that you register in the Golf Shop for all games of golf on the course, no matter how many holes you are playing and what time you are playing.

Please also note that the Practice Green at the back of the 15th tee forms part of the golf course and is therefore club property and MAINTAINED by the club at its expense, hence is there for Members use only. This will also apply to the Practice Green near the 12th green when it returns to play.

Whilst the Club does not have available resources to secure the Club’s property to the fullest extent possible, we request that Members refer cases of non compliance to the Golf Shop on 5530 9033.

Sincerely,

Mark Holland
Executive General Manager
