HYDRAULIC LEAK – 6th GREEN

Posted on: 28 January

Good morning Members

Regrettably this morning, main hydraulic line in our greens mower blew whilst preparing the course for play. Unfortunately, we have suffered significant damage to this green and despite being able to quickly apply spill mats and detergent to wash out the oil, we have determined this too much of a risk to the health and presentation of the green in the long term.

We have made the urgent decision this morning to address this issue immediately and resurface this green. Whilst this is an inconvenience in the interim, it means that we can also address the severe encroachment on this green and problematic soil profile that contributed to the disease we experienced last summer. We were planning to resurface the 8th, this will now take priority and preparation work will commence this week.

It is anticipated that the temporary green will be in play from Monday next week, please bear with us as it will be rough for a couple of weeks however, we need as much growing time as possible. We will bring forward the opening of the 2nd green to better facilitate your enjoyment.

As always, if you have any questions, you are most welcome to email myself for further detail of clarification.

Best regards,

Tracey-Lea Tiley
