Posted on: 12 September
With the warmer temperatures returning, it is also time that snakes become more active.
Over the last week there have been several sightings of snakes near gardens and also on the fairways.
Your safety is paramount and we recommend you take precaution particularly whilst looking for balls.
What should I do if I see a snake?
1. Do not approach.
2. Keep movements slow and back away from the snake.
3. Do not provoke the snake.
4. Call the Golf Shop 5530 9033 to report it. Note where and what it looked like.
What if I am bitten?
1. Call 55309033.
A number of our team are senior first aiders. we can get first response ‘first aid’ to you immediately and we will call emergency services.
2. Stay as still as possible.
3. Wrap bandage (shirt or golf towel are great substitute) tightly around bite. Start extend below bite (fingertips or feet and go as far as you can) to reduce venom flow.
4. Mark the site with a pen or dirt.
5. Keep still and slow your breathing.
This is time to prepare, not panic.
