Safe and Respectful Conduct on the Course and at the Club

As we get set to re-open the golf course on Friday after renovations, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind all members of the importance of maintaining a safe, courteous and enjoyable playing environment for everyone.

Please ensure you are always aware of groups ahead of you and avoid playing shots when there is any chance they may still be within range. Safe play is a fundamental responsibility we all share.

Equally important is respectful conduct and the need to treat each other with kindness.  We ask all members to communicate with one another in a considerate manner and uphold the standards that make Links Golf & Wellbeing a club we can all be proud of.  Culture is everything and something we should be able to pride ourselves on is the simple civility amongst members.

A positive culture on the course and around the club makes this great game more enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you for continuing to demonstrate the sportsmanship, respect, and care that define our community.

If you witness any unsafe or inappropriate behaviour, please report it to Management so we can address it as promptly, respectfully and fairly as possible.

A Reminder to Keep Your Belongings Safe

We’d like to remind all members and their guests to keep personal belongings secure while visiting the Club. Please avoid leaving valuables unattended in the locker rooms, golf carts, or around the clubhouse.

While we take every effort to maintain a safe and welcoming environment, you never know when someone with dishonest intentions might be around, so a little extra vigilance helps protect everyone. Dishonest, opportunistic behaviour is unpredictable and can happen anywhere so if you do notice any suspicious activity, please report it to our staff immediately.

Thank you for helping us look out for one another and keeping Links a safe and enjoyable place for all.

This event has been running since 12th July through to 11th October in conjunction with our Saturday competitions.

Congratulations to all 4 players on your Handiskins winnings

2nd Place - Anthony Slag $230

Congratulations Melanie Whiteley

After her recent great win in the Ladies Club Championships Melanie Whiteley has followed it up with three more fantastic performances.

Playing in the Bargara Ladies Classic over 54 holes, in what could only be described as atrocious conditions, Melanie put in a great performance finishing 4th overall in a strong field represented by over 18 clubs from Queensland.

The following week Melanie had a great victory in the Maroochy River QSOOM event with a 76 off the stick dominating the field, winning by 5 shots.

Last Monday Melanie lined up again at the QSOOM Palmer Robina tournament finishing a very credible 2nd in a strong field.

Playing in QSOOM (Queensland Senior Order Of Merit ) events gives the players the opportunity to gain merit points from performances in dedicated Australian and State events from which the Australian and State teams are selected.

Keep it up Melanie, we are very proud of you.

Rookies on Fire

Congratulations to our Ladies Rookie Pennant Team as they continue their great form. Wins to Sally 4/3, Sharon 6/4 and Kathy 4/3. Trish and Anthea putting up great fights but both ladies went down 3/2 this time. With an overall 3/2 team win we remain at the top of the table.

Next Monday is the final round and we have the bye, so the final outcome depends on the Southport / Coolangatta match.

The final round will be at Links, and the conclusion of Tournament will be celebrated with lunch and presentation from about 12:30 / 1pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and support our Ladies regardless of the outcome. What a fantastic season it has been for our Rookies. Everyone has enjoyed it immensely. A special cheer to the ladies who have volunteered their time to support the Rookie Program.

Love to see you all next week!

Members Summer Chook Run

Back by popular demand, the Summer Chook Run is making its return this Friday, 5th December!

Come along every Friday for a 9-hole Ambrose, starting with a 3 pm shotgun, followed by light nibbles and presentations.

It’s the perfect way to finish the week—enjoy a relaxed, fun-filled afternoon on the course with plenty of laughs, great company, and good times.

We can’t wait to see you out there!

Member Booking and Tee Sheet Etiquette

We’ve noticed that on two-tee start days (Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday), some groups at the start of the AM and/or PM fields are completing their first nine holes in under two hours, which is fantastic from a pace of play perspective.

However, some of these groups are then moving straight to their second nine before players in the later AM/PM tee times have teed off. This results in some groups commencing their second 9 prior to others beginning their front 9.

As a courtesy to your fellow members, please wait until all groups in the AM/PM fields have teed off their first hole before proceeding to your second nine. This helps maintain fairness and respect for everyone.

Member 'No Show' for Tee Times

We understand that life gets busy and sometimes plans change. However, member no-shows are again on the rise, which at times can leave others without playing partners during competition rounds.

If you’re unable to play, please cancel your booking either through your member login or by calling the Golf Shop, so the team can make the slot available to others.

Your cooperation ensures all members have the opportunity to enjoy their round.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration.

Temporary Local Rules During Course Renovation Recovery

When the golf course reopens for play post renovations on Friday 21st November we will have some Temporary Local Rules in play.

These Temporary Local Rules will remain in play from Friday 21st November up to and including Wednesday 24th December 2025.
