Josh

The Team Behind Links...

Josh, our dedicated Golf Services Supervisor, has been an important part of the Links team for the past six years, ensuring members and guests enjoy a welcoming and memorable experience.

Originally from England, Josh moved to Australia in 2008 when his dad transferred from the British to the Australian Army. He picked up golf at 12 and quickly fell in love with the game. With experience at Emerald Lakes, Parkwood, and five years in events at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove, he brings a wealth of industry knowledge and passion to his role.

Starting as a Golf Services team member, Josh worked his way up to supervisor. He thrives on being part of the golf industry, surrounded by like-minded people, and is committed to delivering the best service possible; from managing tee sheets and competitions to helping members with apparel and equipment. For him, the best part of the job is being part of a team that’s always striving to improve the club and create a welcoming environment.

Outside of work, Josh is a proud new dad to 10-month-old twin boys. Becoming a father has deepened his passion for being a great role model. When he finds some spare time, Josh enjoys weightlifting, golf, playing guitar, and video games.

When asked for his top pick from the Golf Shop, Josh recommends the FootJoy Premiere Shoes.

If he could have any superpower, Josh says teleportation or cloning would be at the top of the list - especially handy for keeping up with twins! And one thing still on his bucket list? A trip to the USA to watch The Masters at Augusta, the ultimate dream for any golf enthusiast.

Thank you Josh for your passion, professionalism, and commitment to creating the best experience possible, you are an invaluable part of the Links Golf & Wellbeing Team.

Ladies Pennant Series Concludes for 2025

Congratulations to all the ladies who participated in this year’s Pennant series. What a wonderful event it has been! Thank you to the Management Team and staff of Links Golf & Wellbeing for their continued support for our ladies and Women’s Golf Gold Coast. Over 170 ladies across the District participated in the event this year with 21 representing our club!

The top divisions, Premium and Div 3 have one more round to play. We did not have representation in these divisions but did have teams in Div 4, Div 5 and Div 6. Everyone can be very proud of their achievements with many of the ladies experiencing individual match play for the first time.

Division 4 finished in 2nd place overall. Team members were: Marlene Ayres, Andrea Cook, Andrea Eacott, Sharon Thompson, Clare Singh, Amy Power Quinn, Judy Taylor and Liz Worms.

Division 5 finished in 4th place. Team members were: Ann Beehag, Sandy Hurley, Maureen Grant, Valda Bryant, Jennifer Stanley (C), Sharon Jeffs and Di Empson.

Division 6 finished in 4th place. Team members were: Katherine Forrester, Ann Roberts, Leigh Helfert (C), Joan Gamiandu, Anna Van Hoof and Trish Arbuckle.

Special mention to my supporting team captains, Jen Stanley and Leigh Helfert. You both did a great job, congratulations!

For any ladies who would like to learn more about WGGC Pennant, I am hoping we will be able to join a couple of other clubs in the district who organise “Pennant for ladies new to match play” in October. Watch for further details on this.

Thank you everyone for your support.

They come in a range of fun styles including Midnight Monstera, Cocktail Hour, Parrot Paradise, Golf Tiles, Golf Club Print, and the Great White, inspired by Greg Norman himself.

For the Ladies, Jamie Sadock’s new arrivals are all about versatility, comfort, and chic design. Whether you’re teeing off, heading to lunch, or running errands, these pieces transition effortlessly from course to lifestyle wear. Items include the Full Zip Knitwear Jacket, Elegante Skort, Long Sleeve Polo' Short Sleeve Solar Polo, Bermuda Short and the Airwear Knee Capri.

Visit the Golf Shop this week to see the full range and refresh your golf wardrobe.

UPDATE FROM THE COURSE

How nice to see the sun out and shining for a change!

Honestly if it doesn’t rain for another 6 months, I’d be happy. The Bureau of Meteorology were pretty close to the mark with their forecast of 100mm expected to fall on the Gold Coast with Links Golf & Wellbeing receiving 81mm over the three days. The worst of it being on the Thursday with 63mm emptied from the gauge and the course having to close with flooding on all holes. Normally we could handle that amount of rain, but with the ground at saturation point it doesn’t take much at all to see flooding occur.

Fairways or greens it didn’t matter…….the drainage couldn’t keep up with the down pour.

We have finally finished off the 9th hole bunker refurbishment. This has been a mammoth job carried out by the team with more than 37 Tonnes of sand removed and replaced with new material. I cannot explain enough that this sand will be soft for several months before it settles in and compacts. Remember after all it is new sand that you are hitting off now and not bunker lining so it will feel different under foot.

We were able to compact the face on the front two bunkers on this hole using one of our course vehicles by continually wheel track rolling them. This has made a substantial difference to the overall compaction of these bunkers. Unfortunately, this method could not be used on other holes due to the pot shaped nature of the other bunkers. This completes the front 9 greenside bunkers with the 17th and 18th to go on the back 9 before this winter project is complete.

See you on course,
Glenn Beauclerc
Your Friendly Course Superintendent.
