Update from the Course

Once again, the weather dominates all topics of conversation. It is wet, terribly wet, and doesn't look like drying out any time soon. For the first 14 days of May we have recorded rain on 11 occasions totaling 85mm. Year to date we are at 1248mm. Day time temperatures are averaging around 24 degrees which isn't the best for drying out the course.

Unfortunately, the "Carts on Path's" sign is becoming a permanent fixture and doesn't look like coming down for a week or so looking at the long-range forecast. We are doing our best to keep the course open for play by clearing all drains and gully pits on course and even going to the extent of brooming water off cart paths for safer driving and keeping carts on the bitumen.

Over the coming weeks we will implement more posts and ropes around the tee stations trying to protect these areas during the cooler months when couch grass goes into domancy. Please try to park and drive your motorised carts in the middle of the cart paths as the edges and corners of the buggy paths are fast becoming worn out resulting in mud tracks (hence the posts).

Senior Pennant Call Up

Invitations are now open for all interested senior players, 50 years and over to nominate for the upcoming Gold Coast Senior District Pennant. With nine clubs from the Gold Coast competing, it should be a great series.

A team of six compete off the stick (no h/cap) at neutral courses. This year's matches are being played on a Monday, 4 matches, 1 bye then semis and final, with the first match taking place on Monday 23^rd June and the final on 11^th August. Please consider these dates when nominating.

If you would like to register, please leave your name, phone number, shirt size and GA with the golf shop. A squad of 8 will be selected in the coming weeks.
